The purpose of Celebrate Recovery, or CR, is to fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the 12 Steps and 8 Recovery Principles. This experience allows us to be changed. We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God’s grace in solving our lives’ problems. By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program, we discover our personal, loving and forgiving Higher Power - Jesus Christ.
Who can be involved?
ANYONE in need of freedom from the hurt, habits, & hang-ups of life: church and community members alike.
Why do I need a recovery program?
Human beings are in a constant state of recovery, whether we know it or not. We are all in a battle with sin in our own individual lives. CR gives us a safe place to get honest with ourselves, God, and others about the freedom we need.

How can I get plugged in to CR at Troy First Methodist?
We are currently offering separate men and women's Step Study small groups. These are an in-depth look at the 12 Steps and 8 Principals in a setting that allows for support and accountability. These groups meet together weekly to encourage one another as we walk through life's hurts, habits, and hang ups. Contact the church office for available groups.
